Sherry Sidoti Sherry Sidoti

Voted #1 Yoga Class, Martha's Vineyard Magazine's Best of 2009!

"Sherry Sidoti weaves the spirit into yoga classes that are already so complete with groovy music, contagious energy and calculated movement. Sherry insists that our own experience in each moment be about much more than just moving. She encourages her flock to consider that our minds and bodies, which we already know to be inextricably linked, can both blossom by carefully crafting a healthy and free spirit. She offers this simple reminder in each class she teaches with fresh, innovative and inspiring guidance. Along the way your body strengthens and your mind learns to let go."- LH

Originally from NYC, and transported from Los Angeles, CA, Sherry has lived on Martha's Vineyard, MA since 2002. She feels fortunate to offer private and group fitness and yoga classes to many wonderful people from around the world.

Sherry is particularly drawn to the change that is experienced through yoga - the "play" within the body; to use breath and movement to get to know herSelf and her divine nature better; and to purify the body and mind so that true spirit has a place to call home. Sherry is humbled by the process of unfolding-peeling through layers- and is stricken by the sweet power of quiet mind and seat.

Sherry says, "It is pure joy to take part of others' transformations- to watch as clarity, compassion, discovery, energy and growth unfold in sessions, to share laughter and song and community and reach new heights with a group during classes".

Sherry is eternally grateful for her two soul mates- husband Robert and son Miles- whose unconditional love, humor and willingness to flow have illuminated her path.

Sherry officially founded FLY Yoga in 2007 after several years of teaching "for fun".

Sherry is inspired by and so grateful for her teacher, Saul David Raye, with whom she is certified in Holistic Atma Yoga, celebrating the whole of yoga through the Tantra tradition.

Additionally, she is lucky to have done Advanced studies with Ana Forrest, her initial Vinyasa YTT with Jonathan Fields & Lauren Hanna, Prenatal and Postpartum training with Gurmukh, as well as studies with Pradeep Teotia, Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati, Jasmine Tarkeshi and Dana Flynn, Shiva Rea, and many other amazing teachers.

She is most inspired by the many beautiful souls that have participated in her classes!

Robert Sidoti Robert Sidoti

Growing up outdoors in Southern California made Robert an avid athlete/outdoors man since childhood. Robert was surfing by five; spent family vacations hiking, fishing and biking, was a star player on his school age baseball, tennis & soccer teams, and took up basketball and golf in early adulthood.

Robert was certified as a personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2002, where he began helping clients improve their athletic performance through strength training and functional fitness techniques. He discovered yoga around this time and was amazed at how yoga helped him improve his own game and stay in the "zone", helped with concentration, and his breath capacity. Robert has always enjoyed the playfulness of yoga- handstands at the beach are his favorite!

In 2008 Robert was certified by Swami Sitaramananda at the Sivananda Vendanta Centre in the "Yoga for Athletic Peak Performance" Program. Robert has continued his Hatha Yoga studies to complete the 200 RYT certification with Kira Ryder, founder of Lulubandhas and the Ojai Yoga Crib in his hometown of Ojai, California.

Robert also trained and certified with Karma Kids NYC and works in the MV Public Schools bringing yoga to school children.

He has created the anticipated program BROga™ Yoga and Strength for Men (and women who dare).

He is excited to join wife Sherry and the FLY team and share his passion with others on Martha's Vineyard.

Sian Williams Sian Williams

Originally from Manchester, England, Sian settled on Martha's Vineyard in 1988. Throughout childhood, Sian was strongly influenced by her athletic father. With his encouragement, she became an avid runner, swimmer and horse-rider.

Despite giving birth to 5 children within 10 years, Sian maintained her interest in physical pursuits, particularly cycling and aerobics. Once the children were all in school, Sian turned her interest to pilates and yoga. Developing a love for yoga, Sian took daily classes and began to develop her own personal practice.

As a regular fixture in her yoga classes over these past few years, Sian has been strongly influenced by Sherry's style of teaching. With Sherry's encouragement, Sian began her yoga teacher training certification with renowned teacher, Shiva Rea, and completed in the Fall of 2008,  certified by Yoga Alliance as a 200 hour RYT.

Sian has been teaching yoga to kids ranging in age from 5 to 14 years old. She created Pandavine, Yoga for kids program, which has become a popular fixture on the Island.

Sian is therefore delighted, and honored, to be part of the FLY Yoga team.

Griffin Hughes Griffin Hughes

Through helping people heal with exercise and massage therapy, her practice led her to obtaining her Personal Training certification to continue working with people to help them heal themselves. Griffin has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and has enjoyed the depth it brings to her soul, her work and her surfing!  Griffin loves to help people learn how to unlock their internal power and mind calm through yoga to unlock their athletic performance while maintaining grace. Griffin has been an athlete for her whole life and played two Division I sports throughout college and has been very grateful for her yoga practice to help balance the body and competitive athletic spirit. Griffin is currently the Wellness Director for the Boathouse Club in Edgartown and teaches a variety of yoga and strength and fitness classes and could not be more thrilled to join the Fly family!

Mollie Doyle Mollie Doyle

Mollie Doyle attended her first yoga class in 1990 when her mother took her to an Iyengar class in Providence, RI. She was hooked enough to sign up for a month long service (Seva) commitment at Kripalu. But it was too much too soon...and she only lasted there for two weeks! Then, in 1994, a friend dragged her to the original Jivamukti yoga studio on Second Avenue in New York City. There she was inspired by both the physical dexterity and happy glow that Sharon Gannon, David Life and all of their students exuded. Since then, Mollie has studied many forms of Hatha yoga – Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusura, Vinyasa – with many masters – Sri K. Pattabi Jois, Richard Rosen, Ruth Lauer-Manenti. She is grateful to call her students, Kristen Leigh and Barbara Verocchi of New York’s The Shala and Colleen Saidman and Rodney Yee of Sag Harbor’s Yoga Shanti her teachers. Mollie is Rodney Yee Certified and a member of the Yoga Teachers Alliance. And, this winter has been participating in an eight month intensive training with Rodney Yee, Colleen Saidman, Richard Freeman, Richard Rosen, Heidi Fokine and Sanscrit scholar Manorma.

Mollie’s classes focus on intelligent sequencing, linking breath to movement, and building a practice that brings consciousness and ease to the body and mind.

Bennett Coffey Bennett Coffey

Bennett’s yogic journey began five years ago when she walked into her first yoga class. She came away with a sense of calm and stillness that she never before experienced. This peaceful feeling intrigued her and she wanted to explore it further. She has been practicing diligently ever since, in places like Charleston SC, Hawaii, California, NYC, Washington D.C. and here on Martha’s Vineyard. She received her 200 hr teacher training in Charleston S.C. while still in college. After graduation, she moved to a yoga retreat for four months in the mountains of Northern California where she immersed herself in karma yoga and self inquiry. Among many things, yoga has taught her to have more self awareness and compassion for all living things. In her classes, she encourages her students to respect and listen to the wisdom of their bodies moving through the poses slowly so that the tension we build up each day can be released. The practice of yoga is a very purifying and transformative process that is accessible to everybody.

Bennett is a certified holistic nutrition counselor as well and sends out a free newsletter every month with all kinds of healthy tips and recipes for the season. Check out her website to get on her mailing list www.bennettcoffey.com
